Hi, I'm Lucy Sirett. I attend Goffs School Sixth Form and I'm studying A level Media Studies, Art and English Literature. I will be working with Samantha Bransby for our coursework this year :).
Sammi and I decided to set our video in the woods as we thought the characters would look like their the only people there creating suspense due to no one being able to save the character Steph was playing..
Magazine Ad;
The use of colours are plain as well as the whole ad. It's simple so the viewers will take note of what album it is, who it's by and when its release date is. As it's in black and white the viewers are still drawn to the ad because of the use of big font for the name 'paramore'.
Magazine Ad;
This picture it self portrays gwen stefani's personaility and her music very well. By using a portrait of herself makes viewers admire her more and makes them want to buy her music. Gwen is sitting down on a throne with a 'wand' which is seen as royalty. To relate to this theme the advert has used gold, royal font to make it more powerful as she is and her music.
Magazine Ad research;
We was stuck for a image for our magazine advert so we again researched existing ad's.
CD Cover;
This Cd cover of Muse shows how different they are to other bands these days. This photograph means nothing and has no meaning to it. The bands name is quite small yet the cover still stands out due to the colours and how un-normal it is relating to Muse's listeners.
CD Cover;
The girl is clearly highlighted contrasting the name 'muse' which has been changed to white font. The background of the cover is unusual and must be connected with the universe and how Muse as a band see's it.
CD Cover;
This Muse cover is rather postmodern as there's no reason for these 4 men to be sitting in the middle of a desert at a table. Again the colours are noticable and the muse logo is bald to attract the audience into knowing that this cd album is their's and that they should buy it.
Digipak research;
As Sammi and I chose Time is Running Out by Muse we decided to look at their original music albums to get ideas. As you can see Muse's albums are very simple and the band does not appear on the front. We decided to go for the some approach.
What type of music do you like to listen to?
Which music video do you prefer seen on my blog?
Do you think having a music video set in the woods creates a horror effect?
